CEA Study Abroad took us on an amazing one-night excursion to Monte Verde, Costa Rica. While there, we had to opportunity to go on a guided hike through the “Cloud Forest” and walked on multiple hanging bridges throughout the jungle. We saw many different bird species, learned about different plants, and even saw a tarantula. Later that night, after sunset, we went on another guided “night tour” of the jungle where we saw scorpions, vipers, and even an active sloth (very rare)! The next day we were given the morning free to do as we wish whether it was exploring the town, ziplining, or in my case, bungee jumping. If you get the chance to go to Monte Verde, I highly recommend jumping. It was one of the most terrifying, yet exhilarating experiences of my life. Overall, Monte Verde was a nice place to explore nature and unwind in Costa Rica’s natural beauty.
