My 7 a.m. iPhone alarm goes off, and it’s time to rise and shine in Praha! Welcome to a day in the life of a Prague study abroad student.

Waking up is enjoyable in this historic city. The feeling of excitement and inclusiveness takes over any sleepiness or temptation to hit the snooze button. I make myself a yummy traditional breakfast from the ingredients we gathered from the local grocery store. After a relaxing cup of coffee enjoyed by the presence of my flatmates, we leave the apartment.

After a  couple of “dobry dens” ("hellos"), I make it to the tram stop. The tram is a relaxing 10-15 minutes. This simple form of public transportation is one of the most efficient ways to feel like a Czech local. Hop on, take a seat, and enjoy the view as you ride the tram a few stops to AAU.

I reach the Anglo-American Museum and walk past the chandeliers and sculptures within the building. I’m welcomed by the friendly professor and sit through an extremely informative and entertaining three-hour course. Most students dread the idea of such a lengthy course, but here in Prague, the AAU professors make it extremely enjoyable.

After a productive, exciting, informative class period, I grab some fresh fruits from a market around the corner and prepare for my next part of the day. CEA organizes a lovely yoga session every Monday, so after enriching our minds we enrich our bodies. The hour-long session is enough to feel refreshed for the week.

I head back to Prague 5, the pink apartments, after a productive, relaxing day. I will prepare dinner, do my homework and readings and enjoy the rest of the day. After dinner it’s finally time to go to bed. The amazing CEA staff has planned a trip to the ballet for the next day, so the Praha students must rest up to do the wonderfully enriching day all again.
