Having an Aix-cellent Time

Since I arrived in Aix almost two months ago, the transition has been astounding. I went from seeing Aix as a beautiful place to visit, to seeing Aix as a beautiful place to live. I don’t feel like a clunky American walking around dazed, confused, and not nearly as chic as the French. I’ve got a routine, a favorite coffee spot, and maybe a few new additions to my wardrobe. Aix is starting to feel like a home to me. I’ve gotten used to wearing a scarves whenever I go out and getting a fresh baguette almost everyday. I know, it sounds too cliché to be true, but I’ve actually found these to be very normal aspects of the local culture.

 Calissons

It’s a small town, but has so much to offer! Including the great food, nightlife, beautiful weather, and proximity to so many other great places to visit. I can’t wait for it to start getting warmer so that I can really experience the beloved Mediterranean climate, but that also means it’s getting closer to the time for me to go back to the US. Until then I’m ready to keep aix-ploring my new home!
