Wine is synonymous with French culture, and indeed the French people drink more wine than anywhere else in the world. Wine is an art in France, with tens of thousands of wineries producing unique, complicated, and delicious wines across the country. Even the smallest of wineries take immense pride in the vin they produce, so it was a privilege to get to visit a local Provençal vineyard. We learned about the production process, toured the facilities, and then enjoyed samples of four different wines produced onsite while learning to appreciate the subtleties and differences in production and flavor that make each wine unique. It was a beautiful, fun, and informative afternoon, and now we are all one step closer to being able to call ourselves connaisseurs.
