I had the opportunity to go with CEA Rome on their very first group visit to Cinecittà, and it has been one of my most memorable trips so far... Best of all we didn't even leave Rome!

Cinecittà is the Italian version of Hollywood: many Italian and American movies and TV shows have been filmed there. Does the TV miniseries “Rome” ring any bells? How about “Gangs of New York” starring Leonardo DiCaprio or “Nine” starring Nicole Kidman? You guessed it, all of them where at one point or another shot at the Cinecittà studios.
Cinecittà means Cinema City, and that is exactly what it is. From the streets designed to look like old time New York City, to the amazing backdrop of how someone envisioned ancient Rome, Cinecittà is a little city of make-believe dream-like structures. I found that it could be very easy to spend the entire day there, just taking a strolling around and daydreaming.

I learned a lot on this day trip to Cinecittà, and it is certainly a trip I shall never forget. The small cinema city tucked quietly away in Rome stole my heart. For anyone who loves to dream, your sure to find one or two waiting to be discovered there!
