If you didn't already know that a Cézanne expo was in Paris, then you must:
A. Not take the metro
or
B. Not know Paris Student Services Assistant, Elisabeth Quesnay
Elisabeth has been talking about the tombola du mardi (Tuesday raffle!) since last week, excited to draw two winners for tickets into the Luxembourg Museum's "Cézanne et Paris" exposition running from October 12th 2011 to February 26th 2012. Check out the link to the museum website here.
If you ask Elisabeth why she loves Cézanne, she'll tell you, "couleur, mouvement, nature" - color, movement, nature. Though Cézanne is well known for his paintings of nature morte (still life), Elisabeth finds that "il y a de la vie dans ses tableaux" - there is life in his paintings.
Yesterday, mardi (Tuesday!), was the big day to win tickets for the Cézanne expo, so we popped down to reception to witness le tirage de la tombola (the drawing!):
Elisabeth with the Luxembourg Museum tickets and her treasured tombola du mardi.
Close up on le super prix.
Fall 2011 student, Miki Sankary, did the honors (with her eyes closed... pas de triche!)
Pas de soucis for those of you who didn't win! There's always jeudi (crêpe party mix!) and la super cagnotte (tickets to see "How to Become Parisian in One Hour"!) Plus, we're pretty sure Elisabeth will start chatting about next week's tombola du mardi any day now...
