Originally established in 1838 as the Royal Polytechnic Institution, the University of Westminster (WMN) has a student body of over 20,000 and is a leader in research and education. Over 4,000 international students a year choose to study at WMN, making it one of the top 15 UK institutions for overseas students. Based in the heart of London's West End, it brings together all the conveniences of a modern university with the exciting atmosphere of a bustling, cosmopolitan city. WMN has four campuses, three in the heart of the city.
If you are a semester or academic year student, you’ll take courses at the Regent Street, Cavendish, Marylebone, or Harrow campuses, each of which is close to all the major public transport links. If you're a summer student, you'll take courses at the Regent Street or Harrow campus.
Credit Transfer Information
CEA CAPA credit hour recommendations are based on the following conversion: 20 UK credits credits equals 4 U.S. semester credit. Credit transfer is ultimately determined by your home university. Please consult with an academic advisor at your home university on credit pre-approval guidelines.
Transcript Information
Students receive a transcript from the University of Westminster upon successful completion of the program. The transcript reflects UK credits for each course.

Grading
Grade conversions from CEA CAPA partner institutions abroad to a US grading scale are determined in consultation with our School of Record and benchmarked with other peer institutions in the field.

Classroom and Information
- International UW faculty teach electives.
- Periodic exams, homework assignments, and final exams will be administered.
- Attendance in all classes is mandatory and monitored by each professor.
- Teaching styles in England may differ from those in the U.S. Be prepared to adapt to different classroom structures and coursework expectations.

Program Structure & Courses
Choose a 3-week program in June or July or choose a 6-week program in June and July. You'll enroll in 1 elective course in the 3-week programs for a total of 4 U.S semester credits or 2 elective courses in the 6-week program for a total of 8 U.S. semester credits.
Classes typically meet Monday-Thursday. Active learning components required by your courses may be scheduled for Fridays.
You’ll complete a Westminster Application Form indicating course selections and alternates before you leave for London. Formal registration takes place during the first week of the program. It is in your best interest to have multiple alternative courses approved by your home university prior to your departure due to course availabilities. Semester students are typically offered between two to three excursions and summer study students are typically offered between one to two excursions.
