Classroom and Information
- Classes are taught by UTS and international faculty and represent a variety of different backgrounds.
- Periodic exams, homework assignments, and final exams will be administered.
- Attendance in all classes is mandatory and monitored by each professor.
- Teaching styles in Australia may differ from those in the U.S. Be prepared to adapt to different classroom structures and coursework expectations.
- The maximum class size for lectures vary in size between 20-100 students, while tutorials have a maximum of 20 students per class, allowing for more personalized attention from your instructors.

CEA CAPA Sydney Center
The CEA CAPA Sydney Center is housed on University of Technology Sydney (UTS)'s campus within the Haymarket neighborhood. The Center comprises 6 classrooms, including 3 large lecture-style classrooms, large communal space and outdoor patio, contemporary student lounge with Wi-Fi access, student computer and printing facilities, a faculty/meeting space, and administrative offices for CEA CAPA on-site student services, internship, and academic staff.
CEA CAPA courses and programs are rigorous and run in strict adherence to the Forum on Education Abroad’s Standards of Good Practice. The programs are designed to support student’s personal and professional development while exploring and analyzing urban environments abroad, through in-classroom study and out-of-classroom experiences.
CEA CAPA Sydney Center offerings include courses in wide variety of subjects including business, marketing, art, film, history, gender studies, urban studies, and more.

Accreditation
Courses taught at the CEA CAPA Sydney Center have been designed in conjunction with, and approved by, the University of New Haven (UNH). In addition, faculty appointments have been approved by UNH. After the successful completion of a session at the CEA CAPA Sydney Center, you will receive credit for your work from UNH. Located in Connecticut, the University of New Haven is a student-focused, comprehensive university that’s fully accredited by the New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE). The agreement between CEA CAPA and UNH follows the highest standards of good practice in education abroad and satisfies the rigorous requirements of the University's institutional accreditor, making credits earned at the CEA CAPA Sydney Center easily transferable to US-accredited institutions. Professors at the CEA CAPA Sydney Center carefully evaluate student's work and progress throughout their academic session. When calculating final grades, instructors consider written and oral exercises, homework assignments, attendance, classroom participation, and exam performance. Enroll in 1 CEA CAPA course at the CEA CAPA Sydney Center and 3 UTS courses. If you are participating in the Data Science & Analytics or Sport & Exercise Science Program your UTS enrollment will be distributed as following: you will select 1-2 courses from the curated course list for that respective program, and you will select your remaining UTS course(s) from the full University of Technology Sydney course list.
UTS utilizes credit points and represent a measure of the student’s workload by subject. Most subjects at UTS are 6 credit points each, which equals 4 credits in the U.S. semester system. The CEA CAPA course is 3 credits/45 contact hours. You may earn 15 credits.
Due to differences in the Australian higher education system, there is no standard for the number of days a week a course may meet. Class meeting times vary across departments and subject areas.

Couple of notes to keep in mind:
- In Australia, the fall (autumn) semester occurs in the first half of the year (February to June). Spring semester occurs in the second half of the year (July to November).
- Some courses may have pre-requisites requiring students to have already completed specific courses or equivalents at a lower level. As a study abroad student, you are not expected to have taken the specific pre-requisite requirement, but you must have studied a relevant or similar course/module in your home country/institution. You should take previous academic experience into account when making course choices.
- Some courses may have co-requisites, which means that the course and the co-requisite must be taken at the same time. If no pre-requisites or co-requisites are specified, then courses should be open to all students.
- At UTS, courses are validated at a level corresponding to a particular year of study. The levels are as follows:
- L1 (Level 1), which is equivalent to the 1st year of an undergraduate degree (similar to 100 level, introductory level)
- L2 (Level 2) which is equivalent to the 2nd year of an undergraduate degree (similar to 200 level, prior knowledge is required)
- L3 (Level 3) which is equivalent to the 3rd year of an undergraduate degree (similar to 300 level, advanced level)
- L4 (Level 4) which is equivalent to the 4th year of an undergraduate degree (similar to 400 level, advanced level)

Live in an apartment hotel located within convenient access to public transportation, approximately 40 minutes by bus or train commute from the Sydney Centre. Option is slightly further from the Centre, but a shorter commute by public transport. The option included cleaning service, free laundry facilities, sauna, gym and pool. You will share your room with a peer, apartments could house between 2-6 students with the majority housing 4 students. No meal plan is included however a kitchen is provided. Towels and linen are included.

Get out and explore! Excursions are offered for most semester, year, and summer programs. Semester students are typically offered between two to three excursions and summer study students are typically offered between one to two excursions. You'll receive a calendar of excursions during orientation; here are a few day and overnight excursions we've offered in the past.
