With its picture-perfect streets, Gothic cathedrals, quaint shops, and cafes, Seville offers a perfect backdrop to explore the richness of Spanish culture and engage with the surrounding community. The CEA CAPA Seville Center offers interactive courses that incorporate a global experience in subjects such as liberal arts and humanities, and there are also language and elective courses taught in Spanish to help you hone your language proficiency and develop a better understanding of Spanish and Sevillian culture, history, and society. Being in the center of Andalusian culture is sure to be an enriching and rewarding experience for students seeking a memorable study abroad adventure.

The CEA CAPA Seville Center is in the historic Santa Cruz neighborhood, offers a study abroad experience in a vibrant neighborhood with rich cultural significance. The Center itself, housed in a beautifully restored residential palace, includes student classrooms, study rooms, a lounge, and a tranquil outdoor patio and terrace, creating an inviting and supportive environment.
Located next to the picturesque Jardines de Murillo, a lush historical park, this charming setting offers you an inspiring space for learning and connection. Courses offered in both Spanish and English, allow you to pursue several disciplines including history, sociology, art, business, and more. Faculty integrate the entire city of Seville into the curriculum, with visits to iconic landmarks like the world’s largest Gothic cathedral and the oldest royal palace in Europe, Real Alcázar. Easily accessible to other areas of Spain and to Portugal, you can easily explore cities like Córdoba, Granada, Baelo Claudia, and Lisbon, Portugal.
Seville’s Santa Cruz neighborhood’s maze of narrow streets, lively plazas, and traditional whitewashed buildings provides an energizing backdrop for exploration. Through a combination of academics and cultural immersion, the CEA CAPA Seville Center will provide you with global perspectives and lifelong memories in one of Spain’s most captivating cities.

Accreditation
Courses taught at the CEA CAPA Seville Center have been designed in conjunction with, and approved by, the University of New Haven (UNH). In addition, faculty appointments have been approved by UNH. After the successful completion of a session at the CEA CAPA Seville Center, you will receive credit for your work from UNH. Located in Connecticut, the University of New Haven is a student-focused, comprehensive university that’s fully accredited by the New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE). The agreement between CEA CAPA and UNH follows the highest standards of good practice in education abroad and satisfies the rigorous requirements of the University's institutional accreditor, making credits earned at the CEA CAPA Seville Center easily transferable to US-accredited institutions. Grading
Professors at the CEA CAPA Seville Center will carefully evaluate your work and progress throughout their academic session. When calculating the final grade, instructors consider written and oral exercises, homework assignments, attendance, classroom participation, and exam performance.
The following grading scale is in use for CEA CAPA center-delivered syllabi:

Classroom and Information
- Classes are taught by international faculty selected by CEA CAPA and approved by UNH.
- Most faculty are bilingual (Spanish/English) and represent diverse backgrounds.
- Periodic exams, homework assignments, and final exams will be administered.
- Attendance in all classes is mandatory and monitored by each professor.
- You’ll attend class with other CEA CAPA students, not with native Spanish students.
- Teaching styles in Spain may differ from those in the U.S. Be prepared to adapt to local classroom structures and coursework expectations.
- The maximum class size for language courses is 15 students and 25 students for elective courses. These small class sizes mean personalized attention from instructors.

Program Structure & Courses
Enroll in a 1-course or 2-course option at the CEA CAPA Seville Center. Courses meet for 45 contact hours/3 credits. If you choose the 1-course option, you may earn 3 credits (up to 45 contact hours); in the 2-course option, you may earn 6 credits (up to 90 contact hours).
Elective courses generally meet in the mornings or afternoons, Monday-Thursday, for 4 weeks, while also participating in the lecture series to fulfill class requirements.
Prior to departure, you will select your preferred courses. You will be enrolled into courses based on their availability. It is in your best interest to have multiple alternative courses approved by your home university prior to your departure due to course availabilities. Please consult with your academic advisor at your home university on credit pre-approval guidelines.

CEA CAPA students studying in Seville during Spring and Fall semesters have the option of living in apartments while abroad. Generally located downtown, these apartments cater to independent, do-it-yourself-type students who want to experience Seville just as the locals do. Cook delicious Andalusian meals with your roommates in your kitchen, explore the personality of the surrounding neighborhood, and make your new Spanish apartment a home. Please note, this is a first-come, first-served housing option.

A homestay and apartment hybrid, this housing option enables you to sample the best of both worlds. Like a homestay, you’ll enjoy the personalized experience of a host who prepares meals, cleans, and interacts with you, yet does not live with you. Like an apartment, you’ll reside in independent living quarters where you can come and go as you please and live with other CEA CAPA or Spanish students.
Please note, this housing option is not available to students in the summer Internship or Study + Internship programs.

Get out and explore! Excursions are offered for most semester, year, and summer programs. Semester students are typically offered between two to three excursions and summer study students are typically offered between one to two excursions.
