Program Structure & Courses

Choose a 4-week session in June or July, or combine two sessions in June-July. Each session, you’ll enroll in 1 language course. Courses meet for 120 contact hours/6 credits per session. Students in the 4-week session may earn a total of up to 6 credits (up to 120 contact hours); students who combine sessions may earn a total of up to 12 credits (up to 240 contact hours).

You’ll attend class 5 hours per day, Monday-Friday. Active learning components required by your courses may be scheduled for Fridays.

You’ll take a language placement test prior to your departure to Buenos Aires and will have an opportunity to re-test upon arrival. You will be enrolled into courses based on their availability and the results of your language placement test. If you enroll in consecutive sessions during the summer, you’ll have the opportunity to re-test your language level at the end of each session, and may move into a higher level. To ensure that you receive credit for the language level you place into, have your home school pre-approve courses at several levels before you leave for Argentina. Please consult with your academic advisor at your home university on credit pre-approval guidelines.
