Why did you choose to study or intern abroad? And why did you choose your destination? Travel is essential for an architecture student. I have always been excited at the idea of studying abroad in order to immerse myself within a completely different architectural landscape. My university offers architecture students the opportunity to study in Paris, which aligns perfectly with my Cajun French heritage. I had already known a good bit of French, and have been studying French and European architecture for years. It was a perfect match!
What is one new experience you're hoping to have while studying abroad?
I hope to better my French skills by making friends with locals and hopefully be able to carry conversations in French with them!
What is something you're passionate and excited about?
I am very big on documentation. I always carry my journal with me, which has become more of a collaged scrapbook of journal entries, photographs, and random junk I deem sentimental because it represents a certain experience or travel destination. I love documenting my travels in this way, as well as through photography and videography.
what class are you most looking forward to taking while studying abroad?
I am so excited for my drawing class. This class will mostly consist of visiting buildings and spaces throughout Paris and completing various drawing exercises. I rarely get an opportunity to draw, but it is so important for an architecture student to develop these skills.
