Why did you choose to study/intern abroad?
I chose to study abroad because I love to travel and experience new things. I want to gain a global perspective from outside cultures, and studying abroad gives me this opportunity. I can't wait to get out of my comfort zone by living in a different country for four months.
Why did you choose your study/intern city?
I chose Florence because of everything the beautiful city has to offer: art, food, music, churches, history, etc. I am happy that I chose Italy, because I can now visit places like Rome, Venice, Pompeii, Amalfi Cost, etc. by just taking a train or a short flight. I am looking to see how people outside of America live; hopefully they aren't glued to their phones and love to adventure!
What are you most looking forward to during your abroad experience?
I am most excited about traveling! The world is so big and has so much to offer, so being able to explore just a small part of it is a dream come true. I hope to travel with my career and see how different people can be when we all live on the same planet.
Fun Fact (hobbies, interests, accomplishment, etc.)?
I became a journalism major after I tried stand-up comedy. I have always wanted to help people and I have always been very open and loud when I want to speak my mind. I was not the best at performing, but I did learn that I am very good at writing. The journalism major allows me to be a watchdog journalist, exposing the big and bad companies to tell the truth or write for a TV show, or both! I would also want to provide a platform for people to be heard that don't always get coverage by big news channels or papers.
