CEA CAPA's Universal Design for Learning Updates

Our Academic Affairs Team is currently hard at work on the CEA CAPA Canvas Standards project. This is a Universal Design for Learning (UDL)-informed approach in which the Academics team aims to improve and optimize teaching and learning for all CEA CAPA students. CEA CAPA is proud to be one of the first program providers to position UDL as a primary approach to our instructional design.

UDL considers the why, what, and how of students’ learning and strives for all learners to become “expert learners.” Standardizing our learning management system (LMS) for the Spring ‘24 term has been one of our first and foremost priorities.

The Canvas Standards project ensures that all CEA CAPA courses are unified and optimized for impactful learning. When a CEA CAPA student logs into each one of their Canvas courses, they will find that every course is organized in a uniform yet engaging way. Courses will have similar navigation, standardized communication tools, and organized modules with well-curated learning materials to support deep student engagement.

Our Canvas Standards team is hard at work creating Master Course templates for our flagship courses, beginning with our Global Internship Course. Stay tuned for further updates as we continue to develop and refine our academic offerings through this UDL approach!
