Designing My Future: Studying Abroad and Interning in Barcelona

Highlights From My Marketing Internship in Barcelona

I chose Barcelona, Spain, as my study-abroad destination because CEA CAPA offers a unique Study + Internship program here, making it the perfect fit for my goals. This has been one of the best decisions I have ever made.

Currently, I am interning as a Marketing/Design Assistant at Youz Talent, a start-up that bridges the gap between businesses and Generation Z by offering innovative strategies to connect with and understand young audiences. The company is deeply committed to promoting young talent and equipping them with the tools to revolutionize the business world.

At Youz Talent, I had the privilege of working with three incredibly talented and passionate women who inspire me every day. Despite being my age, they have already launched their own company, which fills me with admiration and motivates me to strive for growth. They have been wonderfully supportive, not only as colleagues but also as friends. We often shared coffee breaks, lunches, and fun conversations. They also helped me experience the best of Barcelona by recommending must-visit spots and even planning a full day for me to enjoy the La Mercè 2024 celebrations.

The peaceful street I walked every day to work. I’ll miss it so much!

Every day at my internship has been a joy to me because of the collaborative and creative environment they fostered. They encouraged me to express myself through design, which is one of my passions, and they trusted me with tasks like creating posters, interactive maps, and more. Their openness to my creative ideas and willingness to let me take ownership of projects made me feel valued and supported.

One of the highlights of my internship was attending VibeZ, Youz Talent’s biggest annual event. It showcases incredible digital projects created by young innovators, ranging from video games to fashion-tech, virtual reality, music-tech, and more. If you’re ever in Barcelona in November, I highly recommend attending this event to experience the cutting edge of creativity and technology. You can learn more about it on their website here.

As my internship is coming to an end, I can’t help but feel grateful for this unforgettable opportunity. Time has flown by, and next week will be my last. I’ll truly miss the wonderful team and the supportive environment they created.
