Pictures of Dutch Culture I Captured from Studying Abroad in Amsterdam

My inspiration for my photoset really came from my best friends who I met while studying abroad in Amsterdam. Going alone to a foreign country was the riskiest adventure I ever completed. I was scared and questioned whether I was making the right decision by going alone. Little did I know, I was about to meet my best friends.

What I Captured

Study Abroad Friends

Lauren, Kendall, and Maya are who made this experience the most incredible adventure of my life.

I took a huge risk by going alone and I can without a doubt say that it paid off. I had no idea that my best friends were going to be from different parts of the country.

Lauren was from Texas, Kendall was from Iowa, and Maya was from North Carolina but somehow, we had so much in common, and it felt like we were destined to meet, CEA CAPA was just the missing piece.

It wouldn’t be Amsterdam without clogs!

Dutch Culture

While studying abroad, I immersed myself in Dutch culture.

The windmills blew me away.

My friends and I went to different museums every day, we tried famous Dutch food, and truly explored every inch of the most incredible city.

Every single day brought a new adventure. While abroad in Amsterdam, we visited landmarks specific to Amsterdam including the Van Gogh Museum, the Anne Frank House, and the Rijksmuseum.

Another day, another museum.

I had such an incredible time that my parents ended up visiting Amsterdam just three months after I visited. I gave them a detailed activity sheet and loved sharing the incredible experiences with them, even though we didn’t go at the same time.

Academics Abroad

One of the best parts of my academic endeavors was the professors. All the professors I had the honor of learning under were some of the most successful, talented, and knowledgeable people I ever met.

As a political science minor, the most incredible part of studying abroad in Amsterdam was visiting the International Criminal Court, located only in the Netherlands.

I experienced so many opportunities that were only possible in Amsterdam.
