When I returned home from studying abroad in Prague, I created an Abroad Board. Every time I look at this board, it takes me back to my favorite memories from studying abroad in Prague. CEA gave me the Certificate of Recognition on the bottom left after I did a presentation at the Reflections Abroad Student Conference. The note titled “It’s a Czech Girl Summer” was a list of vocabulary I used to get around Prague before my Czech language class began. Scattered throughout the board are bus, train, and plane tickets from my travels around Europe, including Croatia, Berlin, and France. I also glued on a piece of confetti from my favorite club in Prague. Finally, at the top right corner are memories from the “Talent Show.” This was an event that I organized for my friends and me to exhibit our best talents and select a winner. We also all wrote anonymous notes to each other naming our favorite thing about each other. The notes I received are below my friend Alan’s script for his talent of teaching us all a computer algorithm. Looking back at photos from abroad is one thing, but my Abroad Board is an amazing way for me to remember the highlights of my study abroad program experience with CEA.
