If you’re looking for a flexible, customizable way to take classes online, you’re not alone. CEA has worked to create a unique opportunity for global learning in an online environment. But how do you apply for a study abroad program that’s not actually abroad?
The following steps will guide you through the process of applying to a virtual study abroad program and/or virtual internship program. Go global and stay local – CEA Study Abroad’s virtual options allow you to dive into enriching, career-building courses around the world.
1. Determine what you need in a virtual program.
Are you adding one class to your already full schedule? Planning on a whole term with CEA? Or are you looking to boost your résumé with a virtual internship? Our programs allow students to take only what they need.
2. Review our course lists and talk to a CEA Enrollment Advisor.
We can help determine your next steps with your university, and make sure you’re on track to get the academic or internship credit you may need.
3. Complete your online application and submit any additional required application documents to your Enrollment Advisor.
When completing the online application, you’ll pick “Virtual” as your destination. The application typically takes less than 30 minutes, and documents typically take only a few days to collect – which means you can be accepted to your program within a week or even a few days!
If you’re applying for a Virtual Internship, you’ll also be setting up interviews and working with an Internship Coach to find your perfect placement.
4. Talk to a CEA Financial Services Specialist.
We can help review your program cost and set up a financial plan. CEA has also scaled our pricing to deliver more value to students as they enroll in additional courses.
5. Submit your $500 non-refundable confirmation deposit.
This secures your seat in the program and gets you access to your next steps.
6. Complete your Course Preferences Form.
After you’re enrolled in the program, you will have access to our official Course Preference Form. This lets CEA know the exact courses you’d like to take over the term.
7. Get ready!
You may have a few months or weeks before your program begins. Use this time to review CEA resources and do research on how to be successful in online courses.
8. Stay in touch.
As we get closer to the start of your course(s), CEA will be sending you more information on your exact course schedule and program details.
9. Enjoy your program.
The recent events surrounding COVID-19 have shown us how interconnected the world is. Our curated course list, included Lecture Series, and planned cultural engagement activities are all specifically designed to give you access to a global experience, even when travel is limited.
