Creating Community at a CEA Center

1

Studying abroad is full of amazing experiences, but what makes those memories stand out are the people you share them with. Here are four examples of how studying at the CEA center in Paris allowed me to feel at home while exploring the exciting new environment around me.

What stood out to me the most while attending a CEA Study Abroad Center was how dedicated the staff are to creating enriching cultural experiences. The CEA staff took us on unforgettable excursions we might not have thought of on our own, such as cheering on the French national football team; but, at the same time, the staff never ceased to open my eyes to the little things. I was always learning new places to eat, new places to visit on the weekend, and was able to connect what I was learning in my classes to the city around me.

Not only were the staff able to open my eyes to a new culture, studying at a CEA center made me realize that home is never too far away when surrounded by the right people. My on-site location truly felt like my safe haven, a little oasis in the city. The staff were always there welcoming us with friendly smiles and even put on a Thanksgiving meal for us! Knowing I had them cheering me on encouraged me to go out and create adventures for myself.

An on-site location such as a CEA center allows you to surround yourself with like-minded people. If you are the type of person who likes to meet cool and interesting people but also like to be surrounded by those who will constantly be motivating you and cheering you on, then a CEA center is the place for you!

And, of course, studying at the CEA Paris center meant getting to have this adorable mascot greeting us every day as we went to class. Minette the cat never failed to put a smile on someone’s face.

At the same time, she is a perfect example of the fact that a CEA center is not only a community, but a family.
