It seems like just yesterday I was arriving at the university residence, excited as ever despite my jet lag. I loved the thrill of being in a completely new place, but just as wonderful was the feeling of this place becoming a home. As my friends and I sat at our favorite spot for drinks and tapas for the last time, we reminisced about all the wonderful adventures and special moments we experienced. It is hard if not impossible to predict what is to come upon arriving in a new place 6,000 miles away from home, and I couldn’t have imagined the incredible, everlasting friendships that I would form. It hit us all at the same time, it seemed, that although we would undoubtedly be back to Granada and we would certainly see each other again, there would be no experience quite like this one. From hilltop lookouts, to hidden coffee shops, to hot springs, to drawing on a night in, there is a treasure trove of fantastic memories that each of us is lucky enough to carry with us every day, thanks to study abroad.
