Other side of the Atlantic |
When the weather is nice in Galway, one of my favorite things to do is take a walk on the Salthill Promenade. The walk takes you alongside Galway Bay, and offers an incredible view at sunset.
Have to add color some way |
One of the best day trips is to Kylemore Abbey and the Victorian Gardens. This tour includes several other stops on the way including a stop in the colorful Spiddal Craft Village.
Casual Castle |
Beyond being breathtakingly beautiful, Kylemore Abbey has a rich history that you are able to explore once going inside. The Abbey was a boarding school for girls that closed 8 years ago and now is a major tourist attraction.
View of the Loch |
In the distance, you can see part of Connemara National Park. Although the tour bus does not stop at the park, you can take a day trip there from Galway. There are different trails inside the park tailored to both beginners and experienced hikers.
Class like a royal |
Beyond the arch, you can see one of the prettiest places on the NUIG campus: the Quadrangle. There are many benches outside to sit down and get some work done on a nice day.
