French Architecture At Its Finest

Some photographic highlights of my favorite course at the CEA Paris Center — The History of Paris: An Architectural Perspective!
 The central spire of Notre-Dame.

Looking up at Château de Vincennes, a royal residence / fort that our class toured with our professor.

Our class inside Château de Vincennes, learning about its multi-faceted history — it used to be a prison, too!

Students learning about the up-and-coming sustainable arrondissement of Clichy-Batignolles.
The class walking through La Défense, a huge business district just outside of the city-proper.

Chateau de Fontainebleau, the subject of one of our analytical / historical reports on French architecture.

Some detail of the Corinthian columns outside of the Pantheon.

Students examining a replica of the Pantheon while standing inside the Pantheon. You can never be too thorough!
The class admiring the main foyer of the Palais Garnier. We didn't find any phantoms, despite the famous Phantom of the Opera being filmed here.

A view onto Place de l'Opéra from the Palais Garnier.
