Best Places in Dublin

I've been studying abroad in Dublin for over two months now and I would like to say that I have the city down pretty well. Here are a few of my favorite places.

City Centre

To get from Dublin City University to the city centre, I always take a bus using the 'Moovit' app. Buses are cheap and they have WiFi on them! The bus from DCU to the centre is about twenty minutes, from there you can walk just about everywhere. The city centre itself is not that spread out. You could walk from end to end in about a half hour.

Food

My favorite pub to get some traditional Irish food is O'Neil's. I have been here at least four times in my two months I've been in Dublin.

Guinness Stew and Guinness at O'Neil's

It's hard to pick a favorite item on the menu from this pub, but it has to be the Guinness stew with corned beef being a close second. At O'Neil's, you order a main course (stew, lamb shank, turkey, etc) and then they pass your plate down the line and you can have as much secondary items as you want like mash potatoes, whole potatoes, sweet potatoes, cabbage, coleslaw, etc. Top it off with a cold pint and you're ready for a good food coma.

Parks

My favorite park to go and relax at is St. Stephen's Green. It is a good city block in length with many park benches, fountains, streams, and my favorite part, the luscious green Ireland grass to lay on.

Pubs

My top three pubs are J.W. Sweetman's, O'Connell's, and The Brazen Head. With literally hundreds of pubs to visit (I mean, it's Ireland!), you are about to find your favorite.

J.W. Sweetman's has four stories, live music and is right across the O'Connell Bridge. J.W's is a brewery so you can't get the iconic Guinness, but their brews are real tasty.
