Jíst is Czech for 'to eat.' Prague is home to many wonderful restaurants, cafes, and other eateries that offer a wide variety of dishes, flavors, and cultures. That said, sometimes it’s nice to grab a quick meal or snack on the way home or between classes. Prague has a few American chain companies like McDonald’s, KFC, or Burger King but I wanted to try something new. I’ve compiled a list of some of my favorite fast food options that Prague offers!
Burrito Loco
Burrito Loco is hands-down my first and favorite choice for fast food in Prague. Leaving the United States for the semester also means leaving behind the incredible Mexican food and culture. Not to worry, Prague has a solution! Burrito Loco satisfies that burrito craving by offering made-to-order Mexican specialties. From tacos to quesadillas and everything in between, Burrito Loco lets you design your mean quickly and affordably. And even better, the place is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week so it is always available. Burrito Loco definitely makes my study abroad feel a little more like home.
Green Factory
Looking for a bit of a healthier option? Green Factory is a made-to-order salad bar with all the fixings. All the ingredients are fresh and the possibilities are endless in what you can create. The friendly staff will help you build your salad and finish it off by chopping and tossing it to perfection.
Bageterie Boulevard
Prague has their own version of Subway called Bageterie Boulevard, a French-style sandwich restaurant. With locations all over the Czech Republic and more than ten locations in Prague, there’s always one nearby. The sandwiches are affordable, can be eaten there or taken to-go, and offer a wide variety of meats, cheeses, and other options. In addition to the sandwiches, Bageterie Boulevard has salads, soups, desserts, and my personal favorite, crepes!
Bohemia Bagel
Located right next to Charles Bridge, Bohemia Bagel offers everything from basic bagels to creative meals. It’s a great place to grab breakfast before heading off to school, because it’s only about a five-minute walk from Anglo-American University. With free Wi-Fi and a wide selection of coffee and treats, it also makes the perfect study location!
Friends Coffee House
Prague has so many wonderful coffee shops that are perfect places to study. When I need to get my homework done, I head to Friends Coffee House. The coffee shop is less than five minutes from my house, has wonderful coffee as well as other drinks, snacks, and desserts, and offers plenty of space to work. Unlike small coffee shops, Friends Coffee House has three different areas to study that each offer something different. Quiet or loud, comfy or at a table, the free Wi-Fi and positive atmosphere is perfect.
