Chantilly

In March, CEA took the Paris students on an excursion to Chantilly. Located 50 km north of Paris, Chantilly is a small town in France. The château is surrounded by parkland with extensive water displays, beautiful gardens, and the Chantilly forest. The Chantilly estate overlooks the racetrack, which is one of the most prestigious in Europe, often used for polo races. The city itself is filled with art and history.

The château was built for the House of Montmorency. It contains two parts, the Petit Chateau and the Chateau Neuf. After exploring the Chateau, we were able to explore the quaint town of Chantilly. We had lunch at a family owned restaurant where we were served Chantilly that was made from scratch in front of us. After the meal, we all went to the market, which is a big part of French culture.
