Welcome to the land of goulash, Trdelník's, and much more!
One of my favorite parts about my abroad experience in Prague is the variety of food that I have come across. From traditional Czech meals to fresh pressed juices to Saturday markets, the eating options are endless.
Trdelník |
One of my favorite food items is the Beef Goulash served in a bread bowl from the Strathov Monastery in Prague 1. This is a great place to take visitors! The best way to end any meal is picking up a doughy, hollow, cinnamon treat, the infamous Trdelník. This unique dessert intrigues any visitor and usually consumed at least twice per visit.

Lunch at Můj šálek kávy |
Of the many, many, cafes that I have been to, I can easily say that my favorite one is Můj šálek kávy (pictured above). With the best coffee in Prague, friendly staff, and delicious savory and sweets, it is a once a week spot for me and my friends. Their menu consists of unique items all worth trying. One of the most commonly ordered items by me is the goat cheese and beet open face sandwich.
Saturday Market |
I always end the week by going to the Saturday market by the Vltava river. My go-to is the grilled cheese where the cheese is freshly shredded off of half a cheese wheel onto the bread and grilled fresh. They also have cheesy potatoes!
Prague offers endless food options, enough to always keep you on your toes. After a semester abroad, I have found my favorite spots but look forward to one day coming back and discovering more.
