While studying abroad in the French Riviera, we get the pleasure of living in the small town of Antibes. One of my favorite parts of my study abroad experience has been getting to know every corner of this small town.
Here are my top 5 recommendations of places to visit as day trips in your time in the French Riviera, enjoy!
#1 Villefranche is a beautiful cove to visit for a beach day! |
#2 Want to go to another country for the afternoon? Monaco is just a train ride away and is the second smallest country in the world (following only after Vatican City). |
The French Riviera has truly begun to feel like home while also getting to travel and explore other areas.
#3 The flower market in Nice happens most days of the week! Wander the market, try different sweets, and why not buy a bouquet of pretty flowers? |
The buses, trains, as well as excursions provided by CEA make it so easy to get out of Antibes for a little while and see something new, but I would have been content just staying in the French Riviera all semester, that’s how much there is to explore.
#4 Eze is a perched village overlooking the Mediterranean. Taking this hike is a must during your time abroad! |
I cannot express how wonderful it all is! Thanks to the International airport close by in Nice, I also got to do plenty of traveling around the rest of Europe.Throughout the semester, I was lucky to visit over 15 different towns and sites in the region; though they have many similarities, each one is special in its own way and there is always something new to discover in this beautiful part of France!
#5 It is even easy to go to Italy for the day! Ventimiglia is the first city after the French border in Italy. |
