Living in a new place can be scary, but once you become regulars at new restaurants, then it doesn't seem so scary after all! I discovered some amazing eateries in Rome and I wish I could take them home with me!

Here is a list of some of my favorite places.

(I ate at all of these at least once a week while I studied abroad!)

Prisco was a place that my roommate and I stumbled upon one of our first few nights here. We decided to explore on an empty stomach and found this place to be charming and welcoming. The owner always greets us without hesitation every time we return now. Without realizing it before visiting, Prisco has fantastic reviews on TripAdvisor that it deserves! I even brought my dad here when he came to visit me in Rome and he absolutely loved it. Not only does the restaurant offer a relaxing atmosphere with fun music and pretty decorations, but its food selection is unique and every dish is amazing. We always try something new when we come to Prisco to eat, and honestly we are rarely disappointed!

Duecento Gradi was a place recommended to us by previous Roman students. We insisted on trying it, since it was raved about. And it DESERVES to be raved about. Duecento Gradi is the best panino place in Prati, and arguably the best paninis I have ever had. I personally get the Barberini without fail, but it’s always a tough decision. It’s made fresh in front of you and the workers are all funny and friendly. Definitely a spot to hit when looking for a lunch-on-the-go in Rome.

Gelateria Old Bridge

Now, you haven’t had gelato until you’ve had Old Bridge. The people at Old Bridge do it right! The gelato is creamy, delicious, and the flavors are unique and amazing. It’s a curse and a blessing to live right near one of the best gelatarias, but honestly worth every bite.

Bar Cicero

The interior design of this bar is my favorite part. So many bird houses and lampshades!

Bar Cicero (recently renamed) is located at the base of the study abroad program in Rome CEA student building. The reason that this bar is on my list is because it actually is a fantastic place to get food. For breakfast, I stick to the typical cornetti or sometimes a twist with crema and chocolate, with a caffe latte on the side. But when I need a quick lunch, the tramenzzino is fantastic and so are their mini pizzettes. Also, I have yet to try their lunche,s but their pasta always look fantastic. I think every time I have stepped into Bar Cicero during lunch hour, my friends and I have commented on how good everything smells and looks. The bar itself is adorable and nicely decorated. And there is free wifi!

Insalata Ricca

Just one of the many salads I have gotten at Insalata Ricca. This one has chicken, olives, corn, radishes, avocados, and sun dried tomatoes!

If you are ever in the mood to switch out the carbs for something different, Insalata Ricca is an awesome salad restaurant. You can order any kind of salad you can think of, and they are always delicious. I'm still dreaming of them today.
