Answering "Where Should I Study Abroad?" Just Got Tougher!

1-300x157

If we’ve said it once, we’ve said it a thousand times: The hardest part about studying abroad is deciding where to go.

Well, guess what? Your life is about to get much, much harder, because CEA is introducing not one, not two, but 14 amazing new programs around the world! Your challenge: Choosing between these innovative programs in Shanghai, Florence, Rome, Seville, and Barcelona…

But we’re not completely heartless. We know how difficult it is to choose just one, so we’ve provided a handy guide to our new programs.

Shanghai

Seeing as how Shanghai is China’s largest city (23 million+ people), a center of commerce and industry (attracting international corporations from pretty much everywhere), and one of the world’s fastest growing cities (from a fishing village to the massive metropolis it is today in just a few decades!), it’s easy to see why this is an ideal place to study topics like globalization, communication, East Asian culture, nutrition, and (duh) Chinese language in our four brand-spanking-new Shanghai programs.

Add in a really easy-to-use public transportation system, classes transcripted by the University of Arizona, and the chance to live in China’s up-and-coming “Gateway to the West”… studying abroad in Shanghai is pretty much a no-brainer for any student interested in globalization and East Asian culture.

Florence

Florence is known for its art, fashion, and all-around super-stylishness, making it an ideal study abroad destination for the artsy and fashionable (and those who desperately want to become artsy and/or fashionable), as well as students interested in global and social trends, sustainable business, and Italian culture. We’ve developed three new programs in Firenze that allow you to pursue your interests, choosing classes that’ll help you advance toward graduation and align with your major.

Choose from a range of courses that take full advantage of beautiful Florence, like The Business of Art, Tourism Management in Italy, and Journalism for Social Change. (Plus, the food is amazing. Need we say more?)

Rome

Study abroad in the Eternal City and you’ll soon discover your new Rome away from home. (See what we did there? Punny, eh?) Students in Rome choose from three unique academic tracks — Liberal Arts & Cultural Heritage, Business & Communication, and Ethics & Sustainability, — all designed to provide a focused academic experience.

These new opportunities complement existing programs offered with our three Roman partner universities, including the Providence College Center for Theology & Religious Studies (which makes sense, given that CEA Rome is right down the street from the Vatican).

Seville

Our new programs in Seville, Spain, combine the excitement and options of life in a vibrant Spanish city with the comfort and ease of a welcoming college town. Seville has it all, and now you can study Communication, Media Studies & Tourism Management at our new partner, the EUSA Center.

But wait, there’s more! We’ve also expanded our repertoire to include our International Internship and Cultural Legacy & Language Acquisition programs. Both allow you to hone your Spanish skills and immerse into local culture. Study abroad in Seville and you’ll be chillin’ like a Sevillian in no time! (Apologies for that. We’re feeling very punny today!)

Barcelona

If you’ve ever thought to yourself (and who hasn’t, let’s be honest), “Self, I really want to study business, design, AND innovation AT THE SAME TIME… and I want to do it IN BARCELONA. Why, oh why, can’t I for once in my life just DO WHAT I WANT?” Well, now you can! CEA Barcelona has partnered with the University of Vic – Central University of Catalonia (which we’ll call UVic, because mouthful) to offer our Business, Design & Innovation program.

You’ll appreciate the wide range of courses in marketing, design, and entrepreneurship offered through UVic, and electives that help you delve into student life in Barcelona. Courses are taught in English. It’s the best of both (all three?) worlds!

We know we just dropped a huge load of information on you, and you probably have tons of questions like, “How will these programs fit into my five-year plan?” “Will this help me get a job later?” and “Is studying abroad as amazing, awesome, and mind-blowingly fun as they say it is?” (Answers: Well; Almost certainly; and Even more so.) In fact, we’ve got answers to all your study abroad questions, so feel free to give us an email or a call, and we’ll help you figure out which CEA program is best for you. Ciao!
