If there's one thing you do throughout your 4 years of college, find time to study abroad. It opens so many new doors, challenges you to face situations out of your comfort zone, and allows you to learn more about yourself than any course at your home institution could teach you.
I chose to study abroad in Barcelona, Spain, but as you can guess from my video, I had the opportunity to travel to a lot more places! Barcelona was the perfectly sized, bustling metropolitan city I was looking for. Between paragliding in Switzerland to riding camels in Morocco and every other adventure in-between throughout my semester, it’s impossible to pinpoint which one is my favorite. The entire 4 months will forever be a highlight of my life.
I left my semester abroad with knowledge about how to truly be global, adapt to new cultures, and conquer unfamiliar situations. Of course, I also left my semester filled with information about Spanish wine, booking cheap airline flights, and how to live off of quinoa!
My video scratches the surface on how incredible my semester abroad experience was. I’ll forever yearn to go back to the little things I learned to cherish, such as tanning on the back porch on a lazy Sundays, practicing my Spanish with the doorman every morning, or cooking family meals because we had more time than we normally do at home. I hope you enjoy my video, and if you’re on the fence about choosing to study abroad, I hope that it swayed you in the direction of adventure.
