If you haven’t taken a trip to the Czech republic, then you probably aren’t familiar with its cuisine. I know I sure didn’t know much about Czech food before my semester abroad, but after living and absorbing Czech culture, I’ve learned to not only appreciate Czech cuisine, but also to embrace it. Without further ado, here is a list of my favorite Czech and international restaurants in Prague.
Novomestsky Pivovar

When you walk in, you see the Novomestsky Pivovar’s Brewery, you will notice it is attached to the restaurant. As you sit down in this cellar-like atmosphere, you can order you food, and then go explore the brewery right next door. Upon entering the brewery, you will see the brewing room and fermenting cellar. The brewery uses only raw Czech materials so you know you are getting an authentic Czech beer. I cannot say enough about Novomestsky Pivovar. This place has it all: the Czech meat plates, Pilsner beer, and the famous Czech duck breast.

Kolkovna Celnice
Kolkovna Celnice is another great Czech place with a good ambiance and great food. They serve just about any Czech dish you can find, including Goulash, the Czech Republic’s main dish, which consists of meat and dumplings served with bread, as well as the famous Czech duck breast roasted with basil. Kolkovna Celnice is what I think of when I think about Czech food. You can't beat the food or the prices here.

Café Slavia
Café Slavia is another restaurant famous for its Czech food. It’s also a good place to meet for coffee, etc. It is right across from the National Theater at Narodni Divadlo, making it ideal to eat at after a classical Czech concert on any given night.

Café Savoy

Café Savoy is a restaurant and coffee bar with its own bakery, which offers fresh baked goods on a daily basis. It is located just over the Most Legii Bridge and is situated with a beautiful view over the Vltava River. Savoy has a remarkable interior with a Neo-Renaissance ceiling dating back to 1893, and the atmosphere is modeled after the first Czechoslovakian Republic. Café Savoy is known for its substantial breakfast and gourmet meals.

V'zatisi

V'zatisi is a mystery of tastes. This famous restaurant exercises a two dimensional style making making two different styles of cuisine, Indian and Czech. While V'zatisi is expensive, you definitely get your bang for your buck. You can expect a complementary appetizer as well as delicious and beautiful meals.
