Danny Glover, Michael King, Kristin Stewart, James Franco – other than all playing a large role in the entertainment industry, what else do these four names have in common? They are each some of the people our CEA French Riviera students have met and worked with while interning at the Cannes Film Festival.
An internship opportunity that all spring CEA French Riviera students can apply for (hint, hint –the Spring 2014 semester is right around the corner!), working at the Cannes Film Festival is a great way to gain valuable job skills while also exposing yourself to an exciting and vibrant industry.
Learn more about this experience below from Spring 2012 student Alison Dehncke, who worked as Michael King’s assistant during her Cannes Film Festival internship.

Hi, I’m Alison Dehncke! I’m from Denver, Colorado, and I go to Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. This semester I’ve been fortunate enough to study with CEA in the French Riviera where I studied at SKEMA University. There I studied business and had a really great experience, and I’ve been lucky enough to work at the Cannes Film Festival, where I am serving as an assistant to Emmy award-winning director Michael King and that has been a great experience.
I’ve also been working to promote some of the films that he’s selling here. A typical day has been great, I’ve been with all of my CEA friends so it’s been a really close-knit community of interns. I’ve done a lot of different types of work – I’ve done filming, I’ve done some errand running, I’ve done the red carpet, I’ve been able to see a lot of people, I’ve done a lot of things and it’s been a great experience.
My experience with CEA as a whole, I’ve been loving the French Riviera. It’s been an amazing opportunity to travel and see the sights. The CEA faculty has been amazing as well, and have really helped us get to know the town, the people and really live the fullest life we can down here in the French Riviera.
