Street Style and Paris Fashion Week

There’s nothing quite like the buzz that Paris gives off during its monumental time during fashion week, but I figure that it would be a crime not to share the highlights from Haute Couture, Men’s, and Ready to Wear Fashion Week shows.  From the streets to the runways, Paris surely did deliver its finest to the catwalks and sidewalks of the Ile de France we call home.  From the end of January through March, Paris was the place to be for any fashion afficionado out there in the world.  But in case you missed it, I’ve got you covered with some of my favorite moments both on and off the coveted runway floor.  All original photographs.

Men’s Fashion Week:  Hubba Hubba!

In the midst of Paris Fashion Week, the streets of this bustling french city are compounded with trends that can be a dizzy to keep up with.  It’s hard to know how to combine the best pieces to be chic and avoid looking like you’re trying too hard to be fashion forward.  Depending on your personality, it may feel totally fine to embrace an assortment of bold statement pieces all at once to express your sense of fashion.  However, for more modest fashionistas, you may feel more comfortable adorning a fur coat with neutral pants, or a large statement necklace with a solid sheer blouse.

In men’s fashion it seems to get ever more difficult to take on accessories without threatening one’s masculinity or mis-balancing the outfit’s “feng shui.”  Again, it seems to come down to your own personality and whether a style piece is something that reflects your character.  If you’re not an extroverted person, you may feel out of place wearing a fur hat that could draw a lot of attention to you. Something more subtle like a burgundy infinity scarf is a great accessory for people that want to incorporate this season’s trends while maintaining their own comfort level of apparel.

I was with Zybartas Ciurlys, outside the Paul Smith fashion show in Paris during Men’s Fashion Week. As the Editor in Chief of March & Fight magazine, Zybartas is definitely in the loop in regards to looking sharp on the Parisian streets. He can easily combine earthy tones and boxy shapes to create a powerful alchemy of apparel.

Street Style: Whether dodging into a showroom or into a cab, I tried to capture the peculiar characters that frequent the Parisian streets during some of the most fashionable times of the year.
