CEA Expands Global Career Development Destinations, New Program Gives Students a Competitive Edge in the Job Market

Tempe, Ariz. (August 14, 2012) – Study abroad provider CEA Global Education is excited to announce the expansion of its new Global Career Development Certificate to more destinations for the Spring 2013 semester.

Designed to help students prepare for employment in today’s global workforce, this innovative career mentoring seminar and externship is now available in Dublin, Seville, Barcelona, Shanghai, Florence, Rome and Paris.

“CEA programs emphasize global competence as a central outcome to the study abroad experience, through intentional curricular and co-curricular programming,” said Dr. Paige Sindt, Director of Academic Affairs. “CEA recognizes that globally competent students are more competitive in the job market after graduation. Therefore, we know it is critical to identify and analyze trends in higher education and the global job market to develop programs like CEA’s Global Career Development Certificate.”

The certificate program consists of two separate components – a one-credit Career Development Seminar and a CEA Externship Abroad. Each component helps students to engage in career development through lectures, experiential exercises, field experiences and time spent with a CEA approved career mentor.

Students receive a certificate of completion and an experience to include in their resumes and cover letters. In addition to these measurable outcomes, students build an international network and learn how to articulate study abroad programs in relation to their future careers.
