A student blogger from Loyola Marymount University, CEA student Nick P. recently concluded his June program in Florence - a reality that has both him and us saddened (we're no good at goodbyes!). As final testimony to his adventure abroad, Nick crafted a final blog post wrapping up his overall experience in Florence, and has kindly decided to share it with us here, on CEA's home turf. Take a look...
"My stint in Florence has sadly come to an end and I could not have picked a better city to study in. I don’t want to drag on about how amazing Florence was because most people already know of its epicness. But I do want to remark as a thank you about the program, which hosted our group while we were in Florence. CEA Global Education is a global study abroad program that works with students, organizations, and universities as we fulfill one of quintessential desires, to study in a foreign country.
I can only speak to the staff that works at the Florence CEA, but I surely can’t say enough. First of all, the logistical aspect of hosting our group is ridiculous and they handled it all flawlessly. Our group had overnight trips to Milan and Rome. We went on day trips to Lucca and had various activities planned for us in Florence including cooking class, an aperitivo, and an art history tour. As we were taking an international business course, CEA coordinated for us to visit companies working internationally. We visited GE, a hotel in Rome, a consulting agency, the American chamber of commerce in Milan, and more.
CEA made our trip so memorable through the warm hospitality of their staff, the beauty of their headquarters in the Piazza de la Republica, and the amazing work they did for us far before we arrived. I realize as students we all had to pay for the trip, but CEA made our trip what an abroad experience should be, the most memorable experience of a young person's life."
