UCD offers a broad range of courses for study abroad students, including in STEM, business, and the arts.
Credit Transfer Information
University College Dublin awards credits based on the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) system. CEA CAPA credit hour recommendations are based on the following conversion: 2 ECTS credits equals 1 U.S. semester credit. Credit transfer is ultimately determined by your home university. Please consult with an academic advisor at your home university on credit pre-approval guidelines.
Transcript Information
Students receive a transcript from University College Dublin upon successful completion of the program. The transcript will reflect ECTS credits.

University College Dublin is accredited by the Department of Education and Skills. In addition, UCD is accredited by EQUIS (European Quality Improvement System), AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) and AMBA (Association for MBA programs).
Grading
Grade conversions from CEA CAPA partner institutions abroad to a US grading scale are determined in consultation with our School of Record and benchmarked with other peer institutions in the field.

Classroom and Information
- Periodic exams, homework assignments, and final exams will be administered.
- Attendance in some classes is mandatory and monitored by professors.
- Teaching styles in Ireland may differ from those in the U.S. Be prepared to adapt to different classroom structures and coursework expectations.
- Class size ranges between 15 and 30 students for upper division courses, and 50 to 300 students for lectures.
- You will attend class with CEA CAPA participants, other international students, and Irish students.

Navigating the University College Dublin Website for Courses
- Students will register for modules (what we call courses in the U.S.)around a month prior to the start of the program. Module information will be sent to you directly from UCD.
- CEA CAPA recommend securing academic approval of 8-10 courses prior to departing for the program. It is recommended that students take between four and six modules.
