Explore the richness of modern Irish life in a dynamic, diverse backdrop. This flexible program is designed for students interested in studying history, cultural geography, business, literature, or all-of-the-above in an Irish context. On-site activities, projects, and team tasks help you learn by doing; courses at the CEA Dublin Center take full advantage of the city of Dublin as a living classroom, bringing lessons learned in class to life through hands-on, real-world experiences. Courses at the International School of Business (ISB) (semester/academic year students only) offer a truly integrated experience, as you'll attend class alongside other international students.

Credits

Program Structure & Courses

Each semester, you'll enroll in 2 core courses and 2-3 elective courses at the CEA Dublin Center; or 1 elective course at ISB. Core and elective courses meet for 45 contact hours/3 credits per semester. You may earn a total of 12-15 credits (up to 225 contact hours) per semester.

Core and elective courses meet twice a week, Monday-Thursday. Active learning components required by your courses may be scheduled for Fridays.

Prior to departure, you will select your preferred courses. You will be enrolled into courses based on their availability. It is in your best interest to have multiple alternative courses approved by your home university prior to your departure due to course availabilities. Please consult with your academic advisor at your home university on credit pre-approval guidelines.

Excursions

Get out and explore! Excursions are offered for most semester, year, and summer programs. Semester students are typically offered between two to three excursions and summer study students are typically offered between one to two excursions. You'll receive a calendar of excursions during orientation; here are a few day and overnight excursions we've offered in the past.

Note: Additional cultural activities/excursions or required course-related activities may be incorporated into your final itinerary. You are advised not to make personal travel arrangements until you have the final dates.

Arrival/Program Begins

Official Program Start Date. Students must arrive at Dublin airport on this date in order to be eligible for airport pickup. Students will then be transferred to their assigned housing.

Orientation

Mandatory CEA Orientation will be held.

January 26
Classes Begin

Classes begin at CEA Dublin on this day.

March 14 - 18
School Break

CEA Dublin is closed for Spring Break. No classes will be held.

April 22
Classes End

This is the last day of classes at CEA Dublin.

April 25 - 29
Final Exams

Final exams will be held at CEA Dubllin.

Program Ends/Move-Out

Official Program End Date. Students must move out of housing no later than this day.
