Program Structure & Courses

You will enroll in the 1-credit Traveling Academic Seminar (15 contact hours). This course begins in Seville and ends in Barcelona at the conclusion of your program. Also, depending on the option you choose (2-course, 3-course, or 4-course) you may enroll in 1-2 courses at the CEA CAPA Seville Center and/or 1-2 courses at the CEA CAPA Barcelona Center.

Courses meet for 45 contact hours/3 credits. If you choose the 2-course option, you may earn 7 credits (up to 105 contact hours); in the 3-course option, you may earn 10 credits (up to 150 contact hours); in the 4-course option, you may earn 13 credits (up to 195 contact hours).

Classes meet in the mornings or afternoons, Monday-Thursday. Active learning components required by your courses may be scheduled in the evening and/or on Fridays.

Prior to departure, you will select your preferred courses and take a language placement exam. You will be enrolled into courses based on their availability. It is in your best interest to have multiple alternative courses approved by your home university prior to your departure due to course availabilities. If you choose to take a Spanish language or elective course, to ensure that you receive credit for the language level you place into, have your home university pre-approve courses at several levels before you leave for Spain. Please consult with your academic advisor at your home university on credit pre-approval guidelines.
