ESADE Business School
ESADE Business School (ESADE) is one of the top-ranked business schools worldwide and holds the rare distinction of triple accreditation through EQUIS, AACSB, and AMBA. This private institution of higher education was founded in 1958 and has since established close ties with business, economic, and social sectors to deliver an innovative learning model.
CEA CAPA students will take classes at the Barcelona- Sant Cugat campus, located 30 minutes from the city center in the nearby town of Sant Cugat del Vallé. CEA CAPA students have access to all university facilities and will be able to take courses in English with other international students.
Accreditation
The ESADE Business School is internationally accredited by EQUIS (European Quality Improvement System), AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) and AMBA (Association for MBA programs). It is nationally accredited by AQU (Catalan University Quality Assurance Agency).
Grading
ESADE professors carefully evaluate their students’ work and progress. Reading, written, and oral exercises; homework assignments; attendance; classroom participation; and exam performance are taken into account when calculating the final grade. Grades at ESADE are based on a 10-point scale. Below is a table used by all faculty at ESADE and represent the grades you will see on your transcripts:

Classroom and Information
- Courses are taught by ESADE faculty.
- Periodic exams, homework assignments, and final exams will be administered.
- Attendance in all classes is mandatory and monitored by each professor.
- Teaching styles in Spain may differ from those in the U.S. Be prepared to adapt to different classroom structures and coursework expectations.
- Classes are attended by students from around the world.
- All business electives are taught in English.
- Class size is, on average, between 15 and 30 students.

Program Structure & Courses
Choose between a June or July session. In June, students select 1-2 core tracks; in July students select 1 core track and 2 elective courses.
Each track meets for 50 contact hours/3 credits, with the exception of the Technology for Social Innovation course which meets for 100 contact hours/6 credits. Elective courses meet for 25 contact hours/1.5 credits. Students will earn up to 6 credits (up to 100 contact hours) during the course of the program. Core track meets in the morning and elective courses meet in early afternoon, Monday-Friday. Active learning components required by your courses may be scheduled during the afternoon and/or early evening.
Prior to departure, you will select your preferred tracks. You will be enrolled into tracks/courses based on their availability. It is in your best interest to have multiple tracks/courses approved by your home university prior to departure. Please consult with your academic advisor at your home university regarding credit pre-approval guidelines.

City-living apartments are a perfect fit for the student who wants to experience Barcelona like a local. CEA CAPA's apartments span neighborhoods like Les Corts, Eixample, Sagrada Familia, Gracia and Poble Nou. Stroll past some of this city's most beautiful treasures daily, as you walk to and from your Spanish abode. Most apartments combine single and double rooms. If you prefer to be placed in a single room within a shared apartment this is a good option for you. Students would share common living areas such as a kitchen and bathroom with other CEA CAPA students residing in the apartment.
Please note that there is a limited amount of single room availability. If you request a roommate, priority will be given to that request first over the specific housing type request.

If you crave a taste of university life abroad, pay a little extra to live in a Barcelona Residencia – an apartment type building furnished with front desk service for all your housing inquiries. Specifically for local and international university students, residencias typically house 200 students – both Spanish and international – in the Eixample and Poble Nou neighborhoods. Residencia is available in fall, spring and summer programs.

CEA CAPA students studying in Barcelona have the option of living in a studio residencia. Studios are located in a residencia - an apartment type building furnished with front desk service for all your housing inquiries. Specifically designed for local and international university students, residencias typically house 200 students and provide the privacy of an apartment (with kitchenettes and bathrooms in-suite) and the environment of student living. The residencia is located in the Poble Nou neighborhood and also includes a gym, modern study rooms, swimming pool, free breakfast to go from Monday to Friday, etc.

Get out and explore! Excursions are offered for most semester, year, and summer programs. Semester students are typically offered between two to three excursions and summer study students are typically offered between one to two excursions.
