DESCRIPTION
The wine industry continues to develop as a global market force and France has long been considered the heart of wine production. Traveling to six major wine regions, this seminar examines the individuality and expression of this uniquely French product. Topics include the international influence of the French wine market, globalization of wine, economic and trade aspects along with cultural influences. Students will have the opportunity to speak directly with winemakers, vineyards, wine associations, retailers and restaurateurs to fully experience the vast diversity of the wines of France. Through guided visits and tastings, students will gain an understanding of the French concept and marketability of 'Terroir' in regions, varieties and styles.
