This module explores the roots of contemporary globalization from the late eighteenth century to the mid-twentieth century. It examines the factors that made the world a more interconnected and interdependent place ? revolution, technological change, economics, migration, empire, humanitarianism and global cultural exchange ? and the impact of those developments on individuals and communities.
