DESCRIPTION

This module builds on NGT2 whereby it examines in greater detail, a subset of technologies that will play key roles in the Internet of Things (IoT) and the application areas in which they will be deployed. These include Sensor Networks, Body Area Networks, Cyber Physical Systems (CPS), and Industrial Internet.

Learning Outcomes
1.Design a suitable reference architecture to meet the broad needs of the IoT
2.Design IoT systems to meet requirements for security,safety,and resilience
3.Characterise, design and implement lossy and lossless compression algorithms for IoT data
4.Prototype a simple though safety critical wireless monitoring system
