Learning Outcomes
1.Correctly model data and analyse data relationships.
2.Identify the theoretical and practical issues in indexing and storage of large quantities of data
3.Transform (map) the conceptual DB model from into (relational, object-oriented, extended relational) DB schemas during logical DB design
4.Explain and apply the main principles in design by synthesis.
5.Analyse database concurrency protocols and algorithms to assess their performance and relative appropriateness
6.Discuss issues and concepts relating to alternative database models including parallel models, deductive models and non-relational models
