1.Determine convective heat transfer coefficients and rates.
2.Explain and analyse the thermodynamic cycles of major types of steam, gas turbine and internal combustion power plants; design thermal energy conversion systems at cycle level.
3.Calculate heat output and reaction products in combustion.
4.Analyse and design energy conversion systems, integrating heat transfer, thermodynamic and other considerations, working independently as an individual or in a team, making use of information resources.
5.Present design and analysis of energy conversion systems to an engineering audience.
6.Discuss the technical, socioeconomic and environmental advantages and disadvantages of various energy conversion technologies.
