DESCRIPTION

The course will provide a structured approach to analyzing various media systems, exploring news, politics, conflicts, and freedom of the press. It will focus on how international media outlets cover topics such as armed conflicts and human rights abuses. Additionally, it will delve into the dynamics shaping news, media, environment, and structures. Students will examine why audiences from different cultural backgrounds interpret the same news differently. The course will also explore the repressive tactics used by regimes to stifle press freedom and how journalists work to overcome these obstacles.
