DESCRIPTION
This course introduces the student to the core principles of information systems to inform the student of how to function productively and efficiently as managers, decision makers and leaders of the tech industry, which involves becoming and staying aware of the challenges and changing role of the IS professional. The purpose of the course is to give students an introduction to all aspects of what is required to function as an organization with the use and assistance of various technology tools and resources. The course will use some practical lessons and situations to demonstrate how these technologies are applied to achieve comprehension of what is expected in the role of an IS professional. By the end of the course, students should be able to participate actively in a discussion of how to effectively approach an IT strategy as a decision maker to meet the various outcomes of goals for an organization.
