DESCRIPTION
This course is for students who, having acquired sufficient language proficiency in Spanish to get by comfortably in informal and formal situations, require a suitable framework for professional use, particularly in the field of social communication. It is intended, therefore, to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary for the Spanish in the mass media, as well as analyze and recognize the shortcomings of the students in this field, in order to find techniques and proposals to solve them. These needs encompass lexical, grammatical, sociocultural and communicative components. Furthermore, this course takes into account the requirements for the professional environment in which they will develop their future career along with an analysis of prior knowledge on the subject. Being a course of specific purposes, special attention to the pragmatic and functional component is provided, working with real samples for the analysis of materials and developing case studies. The specific language in mass communication to be addressed relates to radio and television journalism, digital media, print media, advertising and new technologies.
