DESCRIPTION
This course is suitable for upper-intermediate students of Spanish, the most significant social and cultural aspects of Spanish society are discussed, with particular reference to aspects of social change under which Spain has become a very different country in a relatively short period of time. The demographic transition, expansion of services, the changing work field and the role of women in society are always presented in relation to the situation of the countries of origin of students. All information and all data will be presented in class rigorously updated and contrasted from official sources. The classes combine reading current newspaper articles with basic aspects of comprehension and vocabulary; in addition, these texts contain the final questions prepared by the professor which students should pay particular attention to, and which serve to establish classroom discussions.
