DESCRIPTION
This module introduces students to the key schools of criminological theorising. It examines the principal conceptual differences between these schools and shows how such concepts have been applied in the form of substantive research and policy. The development of these criminologies and their use is placed in historical context. Embedded within the substantive academic content, the module addresses certain core study skills. These include skills of academic analysis, written and oral communication, the ability to work independently, in groups and to deadlines.
