DESCRIPTION

This course will explore the primary texts of French children's literature, and more precisely, among others, fairy tales and fables, as well as the coming-of-age novel. The very varied texts selected for this course will demonstrate the extent to which this literature touches on all genres and all literary traditions. It will also offer students the opportunity to appropriate the styles and themes of canonical authors through literary creation exercises. The course will be conducted in French, and students are expected to participate actively in class discussions.
