DESCRIPTION
This is a writing workshop with a strong literature component. Through a variety of writing assignments and the study of prose and poetry by British, American, French and Russian authors from the Romantics to the present, students will explore the different genres of creative writing and develop their own perceptual, technical, and imaginative abilities. Students will be introduced to the various elements of creative writing including plot, point of view, character, dialogue, voice and theme. This course guides students in improving their prose style while providing them with an opportunity to write about their experiences in Italy.
